I just talked with Joe Edge on Skype. He and his wife Lisa are doing well there on the Amazon of Brazil. He said they had a lady saved this week and the Lord is blessing them there.
The Edges are veteran missionaries with MWBM and have done a great job in the work of the Lord. They are working in their second church and have a Bible Institute as well. We are really proud of them and the work they are doing. They are not in and easy place, but they are happily serving the Lord there were He has put them.
To the Edges we want to say, we know it hasn't been easy and we thank you for the faithfulness you have shown down through the years.
I know that often we fail to let all of you missionaries how much you mean to us, but we love you dearly and thank God for you.

Pray for Amy Mussell
I know I had asked you to pray for missionary Amy Mussell that has had a bout with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and I'm happy to say that she is much better on that account,
BUT, now they have just found she has a "hot appendix" and they called me on their way to the hospital for an appendectomy so we want to ask you to be in prayer for her.
Amy is the most focused and dedicated single lady missionary I have every meet. She is going through this health issues right now, but soon, will be on her way to opening her very own childrens home in Mexico.

Home Going of Pastor Mace
I wanted to ask you to please pray for the pastor's family and church family of one of our MWBM missionaries, Josh Rankin, missionary to Canada joshrankin@mwbm.org
Their pastor, Pastor Robert Mace went home to be with the Lord and the funeral is this Friday. I believe Bro. Mace was in his forties and died of cancer.
Pray God will be very near to the church and meet every need there as only He can.

The Longs in Honduras
Just wanted to say that it was good to hear from MWBM missionaries, James and Marie Long and to hear that they are getting settled in and are excited about being able to be in Honduras, the country of their calling.
Bro. Long said he is already talking with people in his neighborhood and looking to start a Bible Study right away. He is finding some people that are interested in hearing the gospel and that is always a good thing.
If you can drop them a note to let them know you are praying for them and the new work that is about to begin there, I know it would be an encouragement to them. jameslong@mwbm.org

Home Going of Olin Barker
I have been on the road all weekend and only got home a little while ago. I would have liked to have gotten this on here sooner.
On Saturday, July 21st at 7:50 p.m, Olin Barker, father of our North American Field Director Allen Barker, went home to the with the Lord he faithfully served and preached about for so many years. Bro. Olin had battled cancer the last of his life. Bro. Olin Barker has left a great legacy with his son, grandson and great grandson preaching the gospel of Jesus.
We ask that you please pray much for the whole Barker family and especially for Brother Olin's widow. I don't know her name but I know she is facing some lonely days ahead. It's seems the longer we live with someone, the closer we get and the more we miss them, but God can and will meet her needs.
The funeral is tomorrow, Tuesday the 24th, at 2:00 p.m. at Ronda Baptist Tabernacle in Ronda, NC.

Stanfords in Japan
MWBM missionary Russ Stanford in Japan wrote and said they were fine after the earthquake there in Japan on Monday. They spent a very uneasy night. The center of the quake was just a few miles north of them.
The train system Bro. Russ uses to get to language school is damaged and it will take them about a month to repair it. It is very hard to get around in that very crowded part of the world and many depend on public transportation like the rail system. They are looking for alternate ways to get to classes.
We thank the Lord for the Stanford family and for what they are doing for the Lord in Japan.

Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever
I also spoke with Missionary Amy Mussell who has a case of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. They feel that they caught it in time to help her, but be much in prayer that the Lord will touch and heal her.
Also pray the Lord will continue to open doors and provide everything needed to start the
children’s home in Saltillo. There is much paperwork to obtain for this great need.

Rodney Lane, Durango Mexico
I just spoke with Rodney Lane, MWBM missionary in the state of Durango, Mexico. He is preaching a meeting for missionary Don Hooks and this is the eleventh night of their meetings. There have been seven saved and one man called to preach. Tomorrow night, Friday, will be the last night ,the Lord willing.
Bro. Lane also asked for prayer for the work they are doing in the mountains. Pray for protection and for the Lord to touch many hearts there as they share the gospel in that somewhat difficult area to carry the Gospel.

Amosons in Mexico
The Hansards in Alabama
I spoke with the Hansards today on the phone and they had three precious souls saved this past Sunday. They are surely rejoicing about that. They have taken over in a church in Florala, Ala. were the church had dwindled down to nearly no one.
The Hansards served with Macedonia for many years in Indonesia. Brother Hansard has had several eye operations and has had cornea transplants. The health of his eyes wasn't doing well at all in the environment in Indonesia and the Lord has put them here planting churches in the USA. Their prayer is to see the church built up there in Florala, call a pastor and then move to another place where the Lord will use them again.

Busy is the by-word
Hello to everyone and I was thinking that busy seems to be the by-word of this modern era. It seems there is always more and more to do and still only the same amount of time in the day!
We had a great weekend, even if it had a lot of miles in it. The Lord was good to us and gave us some good meetings. Also went to the funeral of a good friend from our home church, Jack Lance. He died of a stroke at 61, almost 62 years old. Please pray for his family and especially his dear wife.
Here at the office things are going well to get the week started. We have heard from a couple more prospective missionaries to interview, possible next week. Pray about that and pray the Lord will add to us and give us many more missionary families to carry the gospel around the world.
We are hearing some good reports from around the world from different ones of our missionaries. Keep the news coming in and I will try and post some on here soon.

Have a Great Weekend!
Just a few lines here to especially let our MWBM family know that we are praying for you and trusting the Lord to give you a wonderful weekend. I trust that this weekend several souls will be saved all around the world. Isn't it wonderful that we can pray and trust the Lord knowing that we have a large number of missionaries preaching the gospel in different countries and different languages over the weekend? We are hearing of great things in many countries were people are now hearing and accepting the truth about salvation in Jesus Christ. Thank you for your labor of love, and thank you to the ones that will read this blog and pray with us. You too, are a part of reaching around the world with us with the gospel.
It has been a tremendously busy week and I am about to walk out the door of the office and drive to the other side of Chattanooga, TN for a meeting tonight. Thank you for your prayers for us as we endeavour to do God's will with our lives.

Departure Interview
It's about time to get out of the office and head to church, but I wanted to write a few lines and let you know that we had a good day here at the office. Busy, but good.
The Jason Kenny family had their departure interview today and will be leaving for Chile by the first part of September, the Lord willing. They are a tremendous family and have been greatly blessed and used by the Lord during their time of deputation. Keep them in your prayers as they will have much to do over the next few weeks before boarding their plane for the country of their calling.
To the Kenny family, thank you for your faithfulness and sweet spirit as you have traveled the many thousands of miles on deputation. I know the Lord will greatly use you there in Chile to start some strong churches and see lots of souls saved. Yes, you will have that difficult time of language studies, but you will find it so neat to begin to talk to people in another language and tell them about the love of Christ and what Calvary really means. I'm looking forward to the time I read about your first convert "in Spanish!" Hey, I'm looking forward to talking with you in Spanish too.

As I get my day started here in Georgia, I'm looking up and down the world map and praying for our many missionaries in this time zone and other nearby time zones. We're praying the Lord will give you a wonderful day with His blessings on your lives and ministries.
As I look back to the east I realize that we have many other missionaries that are eating their lunch about now, in Africa, England, Ireland, Cyprus and other countries in those time zones.
Looking even farther to the east we have other finishing up there evening meals in Indonesia and other far east countries that I maybe wont name right here.
Then others that have their families getting ready to go to bed on over in Australia, Japan, Taiwan and Korea.
I stop at the international date line, but then also think and pray for many of our missionaries to the west of where I am right now. They will soon be waking up and starting their day as well.
It's wonderful to know that Macedonia World Baptist Missions has a goodly number of precious families that at every hour of the day, are somewhere in this world, working to see souls saved and churches planted. People of many nations accepting Christ and learning to reach their people with the Gospel message that Jesus saves.

Keep up the good work!
Well, it's 9:11 PM and I think I will call it a day and head to the house. For all of my dear MWBM fellow missionaries, no it isn't always a nine to five here at the office. Thank you for your prayers for us as there seems to be a lot more to do then we can get done, but isn't it that way everywhere in the work of the Lord. The harvest truly is plenteous and the laborers are few.We love you MWBM missionary families and we're praying for you and the work you are doing for the Lord. If it wasn't for you, there wouldn't be a Macedonia World Baptist Mission and thousands of souls around the world wouldn't have the opportunity they have right now to hear the gospel and be saved. God bless every one of you, husbands, wives, young people, and children. You mean so much to us and we are proud of you. Keep up the good work!
Karen Hamby's Kidney stones.
Please pray for Karen Hamby. She is having trouble with kidney stones and has already passed at least one and having trouble with more. They ran several tests today and will let them know more tomorrow about what they are wanting to do for her. She has of course, been in a lot of pain, for over a week now. I'll update you when I know more.

Today I had the great honor of working with Alexander Spear and Kristen Odom in Mini-Orientation. They will be married in August and then begin their deputation as MWBM missionaries to Puerto Rico. Pray for them that the Lord will prepare them and greatly use them during their time of deputation. Also pray as we have one more day of classes in their Orientation. They are out of Liberty Baptist Church in Stockbridge, GA. We are looking forward to seeing God use them to do great things in the days ahead.
